Learning how to read body-language and signals requires a safe place to test your new skills. Are you reading them correctly? You don't become a mentalist by reading a book or watching TV. As Kristin learned when she studied with Paul Ekman, facial recognition techniques take practice. Insight feels magical and instantaneous -- but developing reliable new reflexes and responses takes time and practice. Some of the world's best mind/body integration techniques come from martial arts training systems. Our approach links perception, intention, practice and new behaviors. Effective PQ + EQ + IQ trainings develop great reflexes to respond well to unexpected challenges.
Our methods are similar to a ‘dojo’ in the Japanese sense. "Do" means the way. "Jo" means a place. Our Dojo is a place where you practice new ways to perceive the world and manage your responses differently. You gain energy through playing/training with others. An ongoing group gives you feedback that contributes to faster learning. Trying to gain these techniques in isolation slows you down. Your practice partners bring valuable insights and offer new opportunities.
Our teachers have trained in physical and mental disciplines, in Eastern as well as Western methods of mind/body integrations that respect continuity of practice. Aikido, yoga, meditation, body and breath work take time to learn and integrate, as does Feldenkrais, body language reading and facial recognition. The real techniques they use in the TV program "Lie to me" require refined practice and real time feedback.
The Chinese word gongfu (kungfu) translates as "skill that comes through constant application or work". We want you to have good gongfu for the mind!
